What is Webhook?

A webhook is an HTTP callback that sends a notification to a specified URL when an event occurs, enabling real-time communication between services without polling.

Webhook Explained

In video workflows, webhooks are used to notify applications when asynchronous operations complete: a video finishes rendering, transcription is ready, AI generation completes, or an export is available for download. Instead of repeatedly polling an API to check status, the client registers a webhook URL and receives a POST request when the event fires. This is essential for production video pipelines where rendering can take minutes. Webhook payloads typically include the event type, resource ID, status, and output URLs. BlitzReels sends webhooks for job completion, export readiness, and transcription delivery, enabling developers to build automated video pipelines.
